About CSI

The term made famous by the long running franchise of shows bearing the name, CSI may not be as exciting as popular culture may have you believe, but is certainly just as important. Those in the CSI are brought in to collect vital evidence from crime scenes, including fingerprints, hair, clothes fiber, and any form of DNA to bring back to their labs to analyse. As technology has improved, the effectiveness of CSI teams has only grown, to the point where they play an integral part in homicide cases across the country.

Did you Know?

The first forensic crime lab was founded in Los Angeles in 1924, 8 years before the FBI would have one. Some of the earliest CSI techniques used were comparing tire tracks, collecting samples with spoons, and using fluoroscopes to find bullets lodged in trees.
